Cheese Shopping in the Netherlands

Cheese shopping is major business in The Netherlands, we are didn’t want to miss this experience. We loved a good dutch cheese, and this was the perfect opportunity to source some. Many cheese shops have someone to walk you through the options, and this can be very helpful, but often you are sold things you just sort-of like. We shopped around a bit and looked for a store than we didn’t see copies of all over (there’s quite a few cheese chain shops that target tourists). This one was one of our favorites.

One of the great things about cheese shopping in The Netherlands is that most cheeses don’t need to be refrigerated so you can pack them in your suitcase (still ask to make sure the specific ones you are selecting are safe to be left out) and not worry about the consequences of ripening cheese in your bag or eating it far past it’s prime. We highly recommend the experience - it’s delicious and fun.
